Guaranteed Student Loans Advice

Guaranteed student loans, also acknowledged as Stafford Loans have a low rate of interest. A current or future college student can apply for a subsidized or unsubsidized student loan. A subsidized loan means the government pays the interest for you while you're going to college.

The subsidized guaranteed student loan is based on the students actual financial need. An unsubsidized student loan indicates that you will be charged interest during the time you're attending school. The principal amount due must start being paid after you have finished school. Both kinds of student loans need to start repayment six months after the student has finished their college education.

Subsidized guaranteed student loan (or subsidized Stafford loans) need proof of the applicant's low income. With these loans, the interest is paid by the federal government while the applicant is in school for at least half the time. However, unsubsidized Stafford loans, are those that do not need a proof of income, since anyone is eligible for these loans regardless of their income situation. The interest for these loans can be repaid when the applicant is currently in school or repayment can be withheld until six months after their graduation.

As a viable student loan, the Stafford loan, are loans where the interest isn't accrued until after a period of 6 months after you have graduated. While you're in college, the federal government makes payments on the interest on your behalf, so you don't need to eventually find possible student loan refinance programs.

Guaranteed gradutate student loans (or Stafford graduate loans) are available to any graduate student regardless of their financial situation. Two kinds of Stafford graduate loans exist: subsidized and unsubsidized. Again, the difference in the two lies in who pays the interest on these loans. For subsidized Stafford graduate loans, the government will pay the interest. While students pay for the interest in unsubsidized Stafford graduate loans, though there is the option of not having to make repayments until after your graduation.

As mentioned above, if you have a subsidized guaranteed student loan, the government pays your interest while you are in school. With an unsubsidized loan, you start accruing interest while you are in school, but you don't have to pay it back until after you have graduated. You must show a real financial need to secure a subsidized loan, while unsubsidized loans are available to anyone who applies.
